Creating a clean energy future for Canada.
The ecoENERGY Technology Initiative will help in the search for long‑term solutions to reducing and eliminating air pollutants from energy production and use.
On April 4th, 2008, the Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources, announced calls for Expressions of Interest in Clean Coal and Carbon Capture and Storage and in Cleaner Fossil Fuels. These Calls closed on May 2, 2008. Proponents of those Expressions of Interest that were accepted for consideration for co-funding from the ecoENERGY Technology Initiative were invited to prepare a Full Project Proposal.
The Full Project Proposals have been rigorously reviewed, and projects have been selected for funding. Projects are expected to commence by late summer 2009, following completion and signing of contribution agreements with the successful proponents.
We do not anticipate any further calls for proposals under the ecoENERGY Technology Initiative.
